From December 3, 2018 – December 9, 2018 we are praying and fasting 12 hours per day (6am – 6pm) only drinking water.
Read: Genesis 50:15 – 21
Memory verse: Genesis 50: 20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
In Genesis 37, Joseph had a dream of greatness as a child, but wound up a slave by the hands of his own brothers. At that moment, it probably looked as if that was his true destiny. In Genesis 39, he wound up in prison for a crime he did not commit. If anyone could ask “why me?” it could have been Joseph. Ultimately, Joseph was promoted to second in command in all of Egypt. As only God could design it, the same brothers who betrayed him as because of evil, were forced to bow before him in fear. Instead of getting retribution, Joseph saw everything from God’s perspective. When Joseph looked at his life in the context of God’s purpose, he knew that it would result in good.
When faced with a challenge, it is best to ask God to show us His perspective. God’s perspective is the difference between looking at a parade from your front door, where you cannot see beyond the limitations of the door frame which surrounds you; or on the roof of the house with God Who sees the past, present and future acts in the parade. His perspective helps us adjust our life and thinking to what God is has already done. It is a blessing to participate in the completed work of God.
Pray today:
1. To see God’s perspective in all that we experience,
2. That we take advantage of opportunities to serve Him in all that we experience, and
3. That we live God’s Word by showing others His presence in all that we experience.
After you read and pray throughout the day, be sure to take time to listen for God to respond. Keep a journal to record what you hear Him say.
